NJD Sports Injury Clinic's the only clinic with a spinal joint Mobiliser in the North West of England. Nick, the Clinical Director of NJD Sports Injury Clinic first came across the Mobiliser whilst attending the McTimoney Chiropractic Association 2010 Annual Conference held at the Hilton Hotel in Basingstoke, appearing as a Guest Speaker. Having been so impressed after testing the Mobiliser and talking with practitioners who regularly use the Mobiliser, Nick decided to invest in one for their own clinic. |

What is the Mobiliser?
The Mobiliser is a combined mobilsation and massage system which targets each individual vertebral joint, which, in turn, encourages each vertebra to become more mobile. The Mobiliser system treats both the muscles and joints. It gently targets each vertebra, and therefore is an extremely powerful spinal joint mobilisation system. As a result, it is usually very effective at decreasing the symptoms of long term, chronic musculo-skeletal problems. To further enhance its benefits, we often combine the Mobiliser with others treatments for a more comprehensive approach. |
What does it do?
The Mobiliser is programmed to operate over a 15 minute cycle, which can be repeated if required. The unit comprises of a built-in carbon heater designed to heat the back, two pairs of rollers with of a total of 56 rounded knobbles which gently move up and down the length of the body. The rollers gently and repeatedly flex and extend your spine, thereby working each individual vertebra, thus encouraging stubborn vertebrae into action. The Mobiliser provides more stretch than when using conventional face down massage. |
What can it be used for?
The Mobiliser has been used by thousands of people to tackle many conditions such as: low back pain; prolapsed /slipped disc; sciatica; scoliosis, arthritic hips, sacro-illiac dysfunction, whiplash injuries; fibromyalgia and many other disabling conditions. It has been used very successfully in the treatment of sport injuries. Some practitioners working in sport claim that regular use of the Mobiliser speeds up recovery from back and hip injury and increases muscle movement, enabling improved performance. Practitioners have discovered that their patients, even previously unresponsive cases, make faster progress and become easier to treat.

Is the Mobiliser suitable for use on me?
The Mobiliser is an extremely safe and simple treatment system suitable for patients in most age groups. There are very few contraindications preventing its safe use. Pregnancy and advanced ankylosing spondylitis are considered to be contraindications. However, prior to its use, patients are questioned / screened for suitability. When necessary, medical advice on the current state of the illness and the patient’s suitability for mobilsation are sought before proceeding with treatment.
