Examination & assessment

Our sports injury clinic is proud of its musculoskeletal assessment to diagnose disorders. All treatments are preceded by a comprehensive consultation and assessment. We start with patient history to establish contraindications and mechanism-of-injury amongst other factors. Analysis of  history, clinical findings, combined with clinical reasoning help arrive at an informed-decision.

Over the years we have developed our own comprehensive and systematic approach to the Examination and Assessment process based on the Cyriax principle. This approach enables us to make appropriate and effective informed-decisions on how best to proceed with respect to each individual situation.

Outcome management contribute greatly to musculoskeletal practice (1-4) and evidence-based physical rehabilitation (5). Therefore, we take ‘base-line’ clinical outcome measurements on the initial visit. Thereafter, progress is monitored on subsequent visits, for sensitive changes in patient status (4) and evaluation of therapeutic interventions (6).
